Glacial Fear
Glacial Fear introduces Rowan Campbell, the youngest Investigative Services Branch (ISB) agent for the National Parks. She’s developed a reputation for investigating death and high strangeness in the park system. After receiving a call late one night about body parts found in a remote campsite in Glacier National Park, she sets off on an investigation that begs more questions than answers all the way up into Canada. Do contestants in a reality show being filmed in the park have anything to do with this body or is this death the result of a more serious, primal threat lurking in the park shadows?
Prairie Panic
How did Special Agent Rowan Campbell get started? In Prairie Panic, we meet Rowan for the first time and learn how her sleuthing skills are noticed by the National Park Service when she’s working as a Pathways Program Ranger at the Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve in Kansas. After several bison are violently slaughtered and a staff member goes missing, Rowan starts to wonder if there is more going on than just a rogue mountain lion passing through the area.
“The cow was missing a significant chunk of hide on the right hind quarters. She had multiple lacerations across her shoulder and on her neck. The jugular was torn open; signaling her death knell. The calf appeared to be the second kill, and was lying a few feet from its mother, a single bite to the neck. Death from suffocation.”
